Job Title: Help Desk Operative 

Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth   

Service Area: Service Delivery, Alongside Services 

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 07:15 to 16:15, Friday, 07:15 to 12:30 

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000

We’re looking for a confident and proactive Help Desk Operative to become a key part of our dynamic Help Desk Team. What You’ll Be Doing 

As a central contact point for our customers and internal teams, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring service requests are handled efficiently and professionally. Your day-to-day will involve: 

Delivering great service: 

  • Receiving and logging service requests via phone and email 
  • Checking entitlement, identifying the right response, and coordinating the correct resources 

Owning the workflow: 

  • Prioritising and scheduling work in line with contract requirements 
  • Creating work orders and allocating tasks to the right teams 
  • Monitoring progress and ensuring timely updates for both internal colleagues and customers 

Keeping information accurate and accessible: 

  • Attaching relevant documents and maintaining clean records in our CAFM system 
  • Reviewing extension requests and ensuring compliance with processes 

Supporting continuous improvement: 

  • Communicating openly with Team Leaders to resolve issues 
  • Highlighting opportunities to enhance workflows and customer experience 
  • Producing reports when required 

This is a role where both teamwork and independent working are valued. You’ll collaborate closely with others while taking ownership of your own workload and decisions.
