KBS Maritime would like to announce our exciting new improvement initiative to launch the mobilisation of JOSCAR into the Supply Chain.
JOSCAR is a collaborative tool used by the aerospace, defence and security industry to act as a single repository for pre-qualification and compliance information.
By using JOSCAR, we will be making it easier for our suppliers to do business with us, as it streamlines our assurance processes, minimises administration, and by reducing duplication, means that we have one source of validated data.
Not only does it help us to obtain all the information quickly when onboarding a supplier, but it will undertake all our regular due diligence assurance activities too, thereby reducing the compliance workload for both KBS and our suppliers. It is a requirement for all Suppliers to update and re submit their information once a year and, for our suppliers, it minimises the number of supplier assurance questionnaires you have to complete when working in the defence sector. KBS Maritime using JOSCAR will quickly be able to determine if a supplier is “fit for business”.
It will be a requirement for all suppliers to use JOSCAR, therefore becoming a JOSCAR user with KBS is an essential part of the process to engage with all upcoming and future opportunities within Portsmouth Naval Base. This will shortly become a mandated requirement through the tendering process.
