Collaboration with New, Local, and SME Suppliers Upholds Royal Navy’s Ambitious Plans
KBS Maritime, supported by Novo-K, is delighted to announce the successful award of 78 suppliers to the newly established multi-disciplinary framework, specifically designed to support delivery of critical infrastructure projects at Portsmouth Naval Base. The framework supports KBS Maritime’s ability to work with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local suppliers, encouraging the growth of positive, long-term relationships and demonstrating a continued support of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments. The framework, worth up to £300 million, and its newly appointed suppliers will ensure critical infrastructure and systems at the Naval Base are delivered and maintained to the highest standards.
This newly created framework brings together a carefully selected pool of suppliers, each offering specialist expertise across four core capabilities, providing a resilient supply chain for the Naval Base. This ensures that we have access to critical capabilities to deliver high-quality solutions and services.
The four framework lots are as follows:
- Lot 1: Waterfront
- Lot 2: Building & Construction
- Lot 3: Professional Services, Compliance, and Consultancy
- Lot 4: Systems
Notably, 55% of the framework comprises new suppliers, 40% are local suppliers, and 60% are SMEs. This diverse composition not only brings fresh perspectives and innovative solutions but also helps us develop a sustainable future for Portsmouth Naval Base by fostering strong local economies and supporting the growth of SMEs.
“The creation of the Multi-disciplinary Supplier Framework covers the full range of professional services and capabilities to deliver Portsmouth Naval Base’s infrastructure investment plans. The Framework, which is fully compliant with Public Contracts Regulations, represents a paradigm shift for the Enterprise,” said Serena Lewis, Commercial Director at KBS Maritime. “The benefits include improved supply chain engagement, accelerated timescales for delivery, reduced administration, and enhanced value for money for our Customer. In parallel, by attracting local companies and increasing SME participation, together, we will deliver a positive impact for Portsmouth prosperity, demonstrating our commitment to social value.”
With the framework now in place, the procurement process is streamlined, enabling better value for money and reduced time to market. We are excited to collaborate with our newly appointed suppliers ensuring the ongoing success of vital infrastructure for Portsmouth Naval Base.
