KBS Maritime Becomes First Ever Sponsor of Royal Navy Volunteer Cadet Corps at HMS Excellent

KBS Branding Will Feature on the Cadets’ 2026 Field Gun Competition Shirts

KBS Maritime is proud to announce its new partnership with the RNVCC at HMS Excellent, becoming the first organisation ever to sponsor the unit. This milestone marks not only the cadets’ first experience receiving sponsorship but also the first time KBS Maritime has provided sponsorship of this kind, marking a significant step in strengthening our relationship with the local Armed Forces community.

All cadets at HMS Excellent play a visible and valued role across Portsmouth, attending major military and public events throughout the year, including HMS Collingwood Open Day, HMS Excellent Open Day, Armed Forces Day in Southsea, and many more city‑wide engagements. The Cadets also offer young people a safe environment to learn and grow through various activities and adventures.

RNVCC at HMS Excellent also participate in Field Gun events alongside other units from HMS Collingwood, HMS Sultan, RM Portsmouth, and RM Gosport. Dating back to 1899, Field Gun events require teams to race to assemble an antique field gun and run with it to ‘bring the gun home’.

The sponsorship from KBS Maritime will directly support the cadets as they prepare for their 2026 Field Gun season, including contribution towards 22 new hoodies and competition shirts for both the crew and their trainers which will feature KBS branding. Our Managing Director, James Davis, was delighted to present the cadets with their new kit when he visited their unit this week.

Strengthening Our Commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

This partnership reinforces KBS Maritime’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. By becoming HMS Excellent’s RNVCC first-ever sponsor, KBS Maritime reaffirms its silver status with the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.

Through initiatives like this sponsorship, KBS Maritime continues to demonstrate practical support for service personnel, veterans, reserves, and cadets across the region.
