What has been your career path before joining KBS Maritime?
I was a maths teacher for 7 years before moving to a career in tech. I completed a course with Code First Girls that inspired my interest in data management and analysis and now I instruct on the course that started my new career. Directly prior to joining KBS Maritime I was a business analyst and power apps developer to support a Navy Training Design contractor at HMS Collingwood.
What are some of the things you do in your role now?
As part of business support, I engage with all different areas of the business to help them manage and utilise their data in the most efficient ways. Most recently I was involved in the creation of STORM project reporting within our Keystone app and we are now looking to expand our use of Keystone and see how it can benefit other business areas.
What do you enjoy most about working at KBS Maritime?
I love how varied my day to day is from developing Power Apps to engaging with people from all over the business. I also get a real sense of value out of the part we play in supporting the Naval Base and our Armed Forces.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
It changed from week to week! Everything from a structural engineer to a stage manager to a museum curator!
