Silver Success for KBS Maritime in Defence Employer Scheme

We are delighted to announce that KBS Maritime has been awarded the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award 2025. The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support the defence sector and inspire others to follow suit. Following our Bronze Award in 2023, KBS has continued to develop our policies to meet the criteria for the Silver level of the ERS. We have committed to employing veterans and reservists and ensuring that they are treated fairly in the workplace.

James Davis, Managing Director at KBS Maritime, expressed: “We are immensely proud to have received the Silver Award and be recognised as an employer that goes above and beyond in supporting defence personnel through flexible policies, visible advocacy, and long-term commitment to those who serve. As a company which delivers capabilities to UK Defence, this award has always been a vital goal for us, and we are pleased to celebrate it during Armed Forces week. We aspire to achieve the Gold award in the future as we work to further support our Armed Forces with our policies and work at Portsmouth Naval Base.”

We are proud to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant and to demonstrate our commitment to supporting those who have served our country. We believe that the skills and experience of veterans and reservists are an asset to our organisation, and we are committed to ensuring that they have the support they need to succeed in the workplace.

Thank you to all of our teams which have contributed to our achievement of the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme of the Armed Forces Covenant. We look forward to continuing our work in support of the community and hope to achieve even greater recognition in the future.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that businesses and organisations can make to demonstrate their support for members of the armed forces community. This includes serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The Covenant is a way for organisations to show their gratitude for the sacrifices made by those who have served our country and to ensure that they are treated with fairness and respect.

The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) is a program within the Armed Forces Covenant that recognises employers who have demonstrated a commitment to supporting the armed forces community. The ERS has three levels of recognition: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. To achieve the Silver level, organisations must meet a set of criteria that demonstrate their support for the armed forces community.
