We hear from Vasiliki Kalomoiri, an Asset Design Manager for the buildings within Portsmouth Naval Base. Vasiliki is responsible for the delivery of projects from inception to completion, considering amongst other things the design risks, the Health and Safety and the Net Zero Carbon.
We hear from Sarah Hedges, an Electrical Engineer working within the KBS Maritime Engineering, Assurance & Compliance Team (EnACT) and providing engineering support to KBS and other teams on the base and assuring our customer that the base facilities, plant and equipment are compliant and safe to operate.

The backbone of KBS Maritime’s operations in His Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth, is the Waterfront activity, which provides the support to ships. Within the Destroyer/Frigate Centre of Excellence at 14 & 15 Dock, HMS Dauntless has been in dry-dock for the past couple of months for scheduled maintenance.
In early March 2022 KBS Maritime colleagues successfully completed the load in of HMS Ledbury to Ship Hall B utilising the MoD’s recently procured Jack-up Barge (JUB);
KBS Maritime join the Royal Navy and Team Portsmouth partners for a naming ceremony of a new jack up barge at HM Naval Base Portsmouth, attended by First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key.
